Trisomy 16 Mosaic ''
Trisomy 16 Mosaic is when an extra chromosome 16 is present in most, but not all of the child's cells. In Enzo's case, the extra copy of chromosome 16 was present twice more than in his normal cells. While you can survive with Mosaicism of Trisomy 16, it can cause further complications, like it did for Enzo. With Enzo, the extra chromosome 16 caused his kidneys to not form properly or function at all. That is known as Potter's Syndrome, a syndrome which is not compatible with life. Again, as you can survive with Trisomy 16 Mosaic, it is very likely that the child will not live a long life (possibly living up to one year or so). Also, the child will have various physical abnormalities and defects with their heart, brain, and lungs.
